The Economic State of Osun and the Governor's love for his people.

It may be hard for anyone to measure your deep love for Osun and her Citizens, especially with the current Nationwide cash crunch.

All the same, here is a list of the little I have in my memory. These are gifts that you gave without expecting much back.

1. You could have charge each Student for Opon Imo. If each child paid N5,000 for 200000 pupils. You would have earned N1b for the State. You gave it freely.

2. You could have charged 4000 for 2 pairs of School uniforms for an average of 500000 pupils to earn N2b. You gave it freely.

3. You could have made School feeding compulsory and charge Parents N50. Let's assume 1 single meal for 500000 pupils to earn N6.525b. You gave it free. Note that 2 meals would be N13.05b.

4. You gave land for free to thousands of Farmers at no cost at all to start and gave an average of N500000 to each serious minded Farmer. I am aware that not much is refunded to date.

5. You gave loans to petty Traders from micro finance Bank to boost their trade. What have retrieved to date? They are still using the funds.

6. Through same Co operative, you gave loans to transport Workers to buy vehicles and return a four-figure amount daily until they have off set the loans. There are several stories from that quarter.

7. You have given car loans to so many Civil Servants to make life very comfortable. Many will not finish refunding after you have left.

8. At no cost or condition, you have given monies to Religious bodies, Mosques and Churches alike, for building projects. At no cost. Except that you want us all to live amicably.

9. No State Governor has built a quarter of the Schools that you have built all round Osun. You could have siphoned these funds and make our children remain in those poultry-looking structures. (It was really funny site back then)

10. What did our Higher School children do to you to deserve an increase in their allowances by about 300%? Nothing? Just pure love for them!

11. Shall we count how many souls who have received financial support for emergencies and pressing needs. That one is countless o. Yours truly have benefitted... You could have made yourself inaccessible.

12. You as State Governor have earned not a kobo for this State Government as remuneration.

Even me, I know you need money. But, you wouldn't take it. Severally you have refunded your travel allowances to the State coffers.

13. If you had make life so unbearable from 2010, by enforcing tax on all and sundry, haba, owo ti yapa. Too much money everywhere. But no! 

"If I have not given them enough, how can I demand for tax from them. Where are they going to get the money to pay!"

These were your words, years ago.

These are few, very few of what I see and know this Governor for.

Rauf Aregbesola, if the present humans of Osun do not notice your love and efforts, posterity can not and will not forget you.

By the way, you have raised the standard of governing too high. Eniti ko nise se kole sunmo Abere bayi o. (Anyone who has no serious thing to do as Governor, can not come close to the State Secretariat.

Why would you not find consistent love from many people? Because they know you well enough.

Yes, you are not the only Governor who owes salaries. But you have tried. Even oil earning States dey owe. You try no be small.

May God give you the energy to finish well and to find one who will take it from here. Amen.
