Offense and Pride, what a twin?

So, I got myself deep in thoughts about why we as humans get angered by the flaws of other humans while we expect forgiveness when we err?
Hmm! That's some sort of drama, isn't it?

Let me go direct first, and then come back, if I must.

Offense. What's that? A feeling of 'anger' caused by being offended, offence being a transgression, sin, error.

So, who needs help more? The Offender or the Offended?
I think it's the Offender!

Pride. Unreasonable, inordinate self-esteem. In Nigerian slang, that will be. 'I big pass wetin u dey do, or who u be?'

Somehow, pride makes u belittle others and place yourself, inordinately above others.
What a deceit?

He who is high today, will surely be lowered tomorrow!
There has never been a Wealthy fellow, most adored fellow who got that honour through many generations but Jesus.

So, what does pride say to an Offender?
"You are too little to deal with me so"

Really?

What does Offense say to Pride?
"It doesn't matter how big you are, I'll give you shit"

And what does Pride and Offense say to the humble?

"You, sit down there, open your mouth and I'll feed you with crap. And guess what, you're too low to revolt"

Let me say something that I've realized and seen.
Those who accuse others of pride are the actual ones who are prideful!
They say, "can't u see that I'm bigger than u?" , "show me some regard by bowing yourself to me"

I used to know a woman who complained that, whenever I come visiting her home, I do not prostrate to greet her. I was thought to bow to the elderly but, that wasn't enough for her. So, I changed and began to prostrate to greet her.

After a short while, I noticed that her own sons don't even greet her at all. They just live on.
So, she didn't teach her own sons to respect the elderly or prostrate to anyone, but she wanted an Orphan like me to lick the floor for her.

That is how the prideful dish out life to others and take offense at unnecessary stuff.

If we could look at life from the fun port, we would see offense and pride as unfriendly baggage towards a fun-filled and healthy life.

Let's live free of offenses and pride.

Serah.
